Unlocking the Potential of Second Grade Students : Emotional Quotient as a Catalyst for Early Reading Skills Development

This study aims to analyze the Emotional Quotient level, reading achievement and emotional quotient's effect on in grade II students. method of research was ex-post facto with a quantitative approach. The instrument used measure students' quotient levels questionnaire; meanwhile, documentation. Furthermore, data analysis technique descriptive analysis, then proceeded prerequisite test, starting from normality linearity tests. Finally, hypothesis tested using simple linear regression test F test. result that most students have relatively low EQ, so their too. results straightforward yield equation Y = 45.788 + 0.406X, which showed an increase performance score 0.406 would occur for every additional unit score. Thus, significant positive relationship existed between kids' EQ achievement. Self-awareness, mood management, self-motivation, empathy, management were essential considerations when increasing (EQ).
